“It’s finally done, in its entirety. A monster 11- track collection collaborative project between Canada’s own Uness and us here at TruthBeHeard. For me this journey has been one filled with many late nights, blood-sweat-tears, and great production synergy between me and my production partner Kun.
A little history for those that are interested ; we first initiated this project back in October of 2010. At that time, weekly TruthBeHeard studio sessions involved intense remixing of songs we felt that we could “challenge” creatively. It was one day that I decided to revisit Uness’s page on youtube as I had been a fan ever since his music started hitting the youtube airwaves with a certain Ryan Leslie back in ’06. Upon my revisit to his page, and a quick browse through the recent videos, I realised that we had just missed out on a remix competition hosted by Uness a couple of months prior.
After a quick TruthBeHeard meeting, we felt that the Ryan Leslie produced “Would You Love Me” would be our way of getting his attention and so we proceeded to download and remix the song. Immediately from the get go, the song had no hitch production wise from start to finish and no later than 3 days we were ready with a great rendition of the original.
I still remember when we dropped this on this on his page. Only a few hours later we got a reply, and his undivided attention on creating something unique, and disgustingly ill to give to the world. Every day from then on was just a smooth ride and continuation of creativity and back and fourth revisions to today’s final end product. I sincerely hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we did making it. It’s been a blessing for me and Kun to be able to work with and have the opportunity to showcase such a great project to everyone. I am everyday, grateful and astounded by the support shown by all of you, my friends, and the fans that we have garnered in such a short time. This is just the beginning. Great shoutout to my bro Bernard Tan for all the great design work you see with anything associated with the TruthBeHeard brand name and the album art associated with this project.
